Join us for ServErie Saturday

Our next ServErie Saturday is just around the corner, and we’re so excited for this opportunity to make a real impact in the Erie community.

On ServErie Saturdays, we partner with local schools, nonprofits, and organizations to tackle simple projects like landscaping, painting, cleanup, and organizing that make a meaningful difference for them and the people they impact. No special skills are needed. Just bring a willing heart and join us as we serve together, bless our neighbors, and be the hands and feet of Jesus throughout our community.

What To Expect

After signing up for your ServErie Saturday shift on Volunteer Matters, you’ll want to arrive at the launch location about 20 minutes early to check in at the registration table and grab a ServErie T-shirt if you need one. Light refreshments will also be provided to help fuel you for your shift. At our launch site, we’ll have a quick kickoff gathering, update you with any last-minute information, and then disperse as teams to the site location that you registered for. Busses will be provided, so you won’t have to worry about navigating to your location or finding parking.

Additional tips:

Make sure to plan ahead and dress for the weather and what site location you’ll be serving at. Typically, you’ll want to dress comfortably and wear clothes and closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty or damaging. If your site location is painting, the older your clothes, the better! We want to be safe always, but clothes and shoes can still be damaged or painted on.

ServErie Saturday Volunteer FAQ

When & Where Should I Arrive?

All volunteers will meet at Grace McKean (7300 Grubb Road) between 8:00am and 8:20am. We’ll get everyone checked in, aligned on roles, and ready to serve together.

What is the Serving Window?

Serving runs from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM (at the latest). You’re welcome to come ready to jump in with a great attitude and flexibility. Some needs may shift as the day goes on.

What Should I Wear?

Plan for practical + comfortable:

  • Layered clothing (you’ll be moving and temps can vary)
  • Comfortable footwear (closed-toe shoes)
  • Plan for the weather as some sites may be serving outside

What Should I Bring?

A water bottle with a lid (you can bring your own). We’ll have some spots to refill your bottles.

Where Should I Park?

There is free parking available at Grace McKean. You’ll then be bussed to your assigned serve location with your team so you don’t have to worry about parking or finding your people there.

Can Anyone Join ServErie Saturday?

ServErie is an awesome chance to serve alongside others! Bring your LifeGroup or a team you’re part of and make it a shared day of impact. We just ask that everyone register in advance so we can make sure there are enough people at each serving location.

Are Kids Allowed to Serve?

Yes! Kids under the age of 18 must register and serve with a parent or guardian. It’s also important to consider any additional restrictions from the organizations we partner with. We’ll be sure to list any age restrictions or requirements on volunteer opportunities in Volunteer Matters when you’re registering.
